Im at the school selection page right now about to register for my DAT.. and I have to pick schools. Is there any disadvantage to sending scores to ALL the schools?

Like if I dont choose to send to lets say.. Tufts ... and I apply to TUFTS next year, will they only see my next year DAT scores? OR will they see both this year and next year?

Essentially, what could be a CON to sending to all the schools

choose the 5 school for free and worry about the rest when you actually apply in june.. make sure the 5 that you choose are the one that you will apply to. GL

I think the question has arisen since ALL schools are free now. Well, not free... but you can select as many as you want for the $320 registration fee. Selecting more or less does not have an effect on the fee. Personally I don't see any con in sending to all the schools. I didn't send to ALL since there were a handful I KNEW I would not apply to, but I did select 43.

This must be new then. When I took the DAT a couple years ago each additional score report cost extra $$$. I suppose if it's all the same fee, then there's really no downside. It won't hurt if you send your report to a school and then skip applying there.

Wow thats awesome! i remember each additonal school was $25 :O that adds up with the secondary applications fees too!

Uhm, the only downside I can kind of think of is... you don't know how you will be doing on your DAT. Even if you dont like your score and you retake it, they will see both the scores but they can see an upward pattern.

If they only see the score you are unhappy with, *and at this time your application is COMPLETE*, they will take THAT score into consideration...and once the application has been sent over to the schools, I don't know whether they can "hold off your application" until you get new scores :\ you would have to ask each school you are interested in individually in that case.

that is all if you dont do so hot on the first try.

Yeah the new DAT fee of $320 covers as many schools as you want.

And apparently, you didn't have to pay the extra $25 back in the day either. There are people on here who only send them to the 4 but AADSAS sent the score to all the schools they applied to as well. We all lost alot of money.....

Yes send them to all schools! There is no downside to doing so and if you decide later that you want to apply to another school via AADSAS then it won't cost you an extra $25 for each school.
