quick ? for obtaining your own CBC

hey,

This is kind of a dumb question, but I want to know how to order a CBC on myself via one of the companies that the medical schools or AMCAS are using. I have visited their sites and either I cant find where to order one, or the company only deals with schools/companies and not individuals. I know that some of you have ordered one on yourself, so if you have, please let me know.

CBC as in Complete Blood Count?? Not sure where you are going with this, don't know what CBC is beyond the above and why would you want to order it on yourself?

As you were notified in the AMCAS application, you have applied to at least one medical school that is participating in an AMCAS-facilitated national background check service, through which Certiphi Screening, Inc. (a Vertical Screen® Company) will procure for participating medical schools a national background report on applicants at the point of initial, conditional acceptance.

Upon your initial, conditional acceptance by a participating medical school, or upon request by a participating medical school that adds you to its alternate list, Certiphi Screening, Inc. will send an email with additional information to your preferred email address. To ensure that you meet this requirement, please:

* Ensure that your preferred email address is up to date at all times
* Add [email protected] as a trusted email sender

Should you choose to do so, you may procure your own report from Certiphi Screening, Inc. in advance of the AMCAS-facilitated report by going to https://www.applicationstation.com/home/cal.asp?rc=CERTAP2009.

For additional information, including details regarding the consumer report to be procured, go to our web site at http://www.applicationstation.com.

Thanks phospho! I thought that it'd be a good idea to check my record too just in case my record wasn't cleared automatically when I turned 18.

Unfortunately, the report costs $150!! CRAZY!!

yeah, I remember I was going to check my record when I started applying... till i saw the price tag😀

However, the company gives you some time to look at your background report, before you give them approval to send it to the school(s). Though if there's something negative on the report, there's not much one can do in those few days...

Awesome! Thanks for the info. For $150, I'd rather wait until I'm asked to release the information then.
