for the o-chem requirement (8 semester hours, which is o-chem1 and 2)... how does AADSAS do GPA calculations?

is it an average of what you get in o-chem1 and 2 together?

anybody that knows... thanks in advance!

Just averages out what you make in all classes, if you make an A in Orgo 1 and a B in orgo 2, that will average out to be a 3.5 if thats all the science classes you have taken... but it factors in all your classes. In my case i made 2 C+s in these classes, which hurt my science GPA with a nice big punch in the gut 😱

Ochem 1 and 2 are my only science Bs.

🙁

Both times I was a borderline A/B going into the final and I did bad on the final. I need to give up my college football gambling/watching addiction before I start dental school.

hi, thanks for the response. however, i was under the impression that each "series," like the g-chem or o-chem 8hr requirement, was stand-alone... . for example, an A for g-chem1 and a C for g-chem2 would be a B overall for the g-chem prereq. does anybody else know how this works???

they dont calculate gpa for each of the gen ed, ochem, etc. sequences. like a previous poster said, they calculate gpa based on many classes. aadsas calculates science gpa, which includes all of your science gpa, and also a BCP (bio, chem, physics) gpa which obviously includes all bio, chem, and physics classes. they don't calculate just chem series or just bio series so dont worry about it...its the scope of how you do in your science classes overall.

cool, thanks you guys! 👍
