Hey guys, just a quick question. Do you think it would be beneficial to take a full length practice exam before any content review or studying to see where im at in terms of weaknesses and what i should focus on?

Yeah! This is referred to as a "diagnostic test." I would refrain from taking any of the official AAMC tests just because you want to save those for the end to see where you're really at. Next Step has a free diagnostic and if you have one of the sets of books, take a Kaplan/Princeton test and see where you're at. Make sure to simulate the test environment as best you can - wake up early like you would for test day and be ready to take the test at 8:00 am and take it in a quiet location on a desktop computer.

Edit - I do want to note that you might be weak on a subject that your diagnostic test did not test you on. I would definitely check out this link on the AAMC website to find out what's on the MCAT: https://students-residents.aamc.org/applying-medical-school/article/whats-mcat-exam/

Highly recommend it yes.

It's probably not too useful because you don't want to use up your AAMC exams so you're stuck using one of the test prep companies'. And none of the test prep companies' exams are good at modeling the real thing, so you might end up with "weaknesses" that really aren't relevant to exam day. I personally didn't take a diagnostic prior to content review. But it's all your choice.
