Quick MCAT test date question

Hi, I am having slight confusion on when to apply and take the MCAT. I have read similar questions but I did not find an answer.

I earned a business degree and went back to take my pre reqs. I will be finishing up Physics this upcoming year and I would like to apply for Fall 2015. I read the primary applications start around december, but I was planning on taking the MCAT around March or April of 2015. Is this a OK timeline? or does applying in Fall 2016 a better option?

The application starts the summer before the year you'd start school-- the people applying now (summer 2014) are hoping to start school in fall of 2015. So if you take the MCAT spring of 2015, you'll definitely be applying for fall 2016.

You will also take the new mcat. I hope you aware of that and have taken the new pre reqs (biochem/sociology/etc)
