Is tosylate and DMSO the same thing?

I totally forgot what the difference was.

Tosylate refers to the anion of p-toluenesulfonic acid (CH3C6H4SO3-). It is an excellent leaving group. On the other hand, Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is an polar aprotic solvent that dissolves both polar and nonpolar compounds.
