Hello all, I'm a nontraditional student applying for fall 2015. I've been in banking and investments since graduating college, but I finally want to get back on the dental grind. I graduated in Jan 2009, will my classes still be good towards the prereqs? Is there a statute of limitations when it comes to undergrad classes?

Most schools don't have one. I took many of my pre reqs over 10 years ago and called every school to which I am applying to confirm. I did retake some of them to refresh my memory for the DAT though.

Few schools have explicit comments on age of prerequisites, however, it should be understood that, unless an applicant has had some recent exposure to the academic grind, their may wonder how ankylosed the cortex has become.

thanks for the replies, I'm planning on submitting the app next spring, so it will be within 5 years. Haha, and I hope my brain is still in working order, getting my investments license actually got me back in the groove of being in school. Hopefully I can find a way to relate investments/banking with the dental field.

A stellar DAT score can surely dispel any such "wonders."

I see many non-trads with killer DAT scores. Become one of them, and I think you're set.

I'm also a non-trad and applying this cycle. I got pretty good DAT scores, so it's totally doable.

If it does not become another deja vu of "Mission Accomplished".

On my first go-around, I scored the following on the DAT:
PAT 18
QR 20
RC 24
Bio 18
GC 19
OC 20
Total science 19
AA 20

Unfortunately, those scores are from 2010, so I have to retake for most schools. My major was biochem and my GPA was 3.87. Hopefully my second attempt at the DAT will be better.
