Quick question about raising GPA

For someone who is done w/ all the pre-reqs but needs to raise their GPA. Would you:
1. Re-take classes you did poorly in (like C's)
2. Take new classes, upper level science
3. Enter a master's program

If the rest of your application is solid (diverse vet experience, extracurricular/volunteer activities/letters of rec.) and since it's really hard to pull up a GPA my vote is for the Master's. It's something that will help you not only to get in to vet school but to set yourself apart when (if) you apply for internships or residencies after school. It isn't enough just to take a few credits here and there redoing the bad classes. It's more important to show your ability at upper division classes with graduate level credit loads.

You will raise it more quickly if you retake the classes that you got C's in. If you think you GPA is high enough to around the GPA cuts (not sure of exact numbers here, but I would think if you are 3.4-3.5+ you would be fine.) If they look more closely at your application after that and see upper level classes or master's work it would help then. If it on the lower side, even if you do take some upper level classes or a work on a masters, they might cut you before they look too closely and see those other courses.
