HCOM is the #1 med school in the country, learning osteopathic medicine on the beach in Hawaii? You cannot beat that.

All the other schools are an official close tie for second (not my opinion this is undisputed fact) based on what my cousin's ex girlfriend's best friend's roomate told somone I met at a bus station he had read in US NEWS once(which cannot be wrong since they are US News!). Thank you

I wholeheartedly agree with the above. I have been out here in HI for studying for Step 1 and my productivity has been amazing. I can only imagine if I had been out here for the past 2 years. 😀

Does everyone at TCOM take the USMLE?

From what our Dean told us at his last roundtable, 80% of our students took USMLE. COMLEX is required.

I'm just wondering how they came up with those numbers. I don't see the criteria behind it.
Eacg student has a weighted average. I am not sure if thye fixed it yet but the weighting was screwed up before.

But pretty much anyone can go over and rank the school. Just to get a feel of how SDNers feel. Its more of a beta test though because ints not a true ranking out there.

As stated about rankings don't mean anything to the students, only the school. You need to come up with your own ranking system of criteria YOU want to evaluate then use that.

why hasn't anybody considered the quality of the toilet paper in the bathrooms?

The good schools know that proper hygiene of the rear, and all of the consequences that follow from there, are the basis upon which the students who are interviewing at the schools and the journalists from USNEWS really rank the schools on.

Shame on me, but as a Brooklynite, I wonder how many from NYCOM just like to complain? (hence the low scores) It's nice to know that in some places (Oklahoma?) people don't complain as much as New Yorkers do. 😛

I don't know, Philadelphia does bitch and moan a lot. Hell, they did boo Santa but they are in the top...

I think the SDN ranking is funny. We are #9 and brand new! Well ahead of well established schools. Not that I am complaining but still funny

Someone answered my question above. Its the past interviewee's perception of the school after the interview. There are a number of factors and the criteria wasn't specified.
