Chapel Hill is my first choice and I hope to get in after my sophomore year. From what my understanding is, their application deadline is in November for Fall 09 admission. Does this mean I should have my PCAT score and most of my pre-reqs taken?

I will be a sophomore this Fall, so I don't even have the majority of my sciences taken yet. What courses should I have completed when I start my pharm school apps?

Thanks in advance!

Yea, I think the last possible date you can take your PCAT is in October 08 if you're trying to get in for Fall 09. Also, I know that they place preference on those who can complete their prerequisites before summer school (in your case in 09). In other words, you should try to have everything done after spring semester of 09. If you need summer school to finish everything up, I would advise you to take it this year. I hope this helped.

First of all read up on the pre-reqs on the UNC Pharmacy home page. In your case the best time for PCAT would be June 2009. If you take it too early, your knowledge base is not complete yet. I mean going through your classes. June test will also give you practice. If you get good score so much the better. Then retake it in Oct.. The PCAT results come in at the end of Nov. By that time most of the colleges are just getting information from PhrmCAS. I took only one test and that was in Oct/2007. I had UNC interview in Jan and got accepted 10 days later.....My advice is to line up your referees as soon as you can. Plan to complete your PharmCAS application in Aug/Sep if you can do it. They can take a month to review your info before sending them to colleges. FYI..the deadlines are the dates your PharMCAS application has to be sent in. Then sooner you send your info, less time for PharCAS will take to review. Avoid the time when everyone is trying to make the deadlines.

Thanks for your advice guys.

Veerg, I was actually planning on taking the PCAT next year, but I'm hoping to get into UNC in Fall 09. Therefore, it looks like I'll need to take the PCAT before their November deadline.
