quick question: pedo bitewings how many to take?

hey everyone,
when taking bitewings on a child. when would take 4 vs 2 bitewings?

I am guessing it would be when the 12 year molars come in.

what do you guys think?

As many as it takes to get the appropriate diagnostic images.

*Most* kids without 12 yr molars will be fine with 2 BWX if they're taken properly on a cooperative kid. Some kids with 12 yr molars will also be fine with 2 BWX, but regularly will need 4 to get the appropriate diagnostic images. This is the part where you get you use the clinical judgement that you've been refining at d-school to get the proper answer for each patient you see😀
