Hey SDN,

So I had a question regarding how AADSAS calculates your GPA because I transferred to UCSD from a community college. My GPA from the community college was a 3.7 and my GPA from UCSD is a 3.1 (hopefully getting it around 3.2 by the time I apply in June) now so I was wondering about what my overall applying GPA would be around. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

you need to find your GPA/credit hour. take your
[ (cc GPA x cc Credits)+ (uni GPA x uni Credits)] / total credits

your GPA will be calculated as combined total as well as per school. If you have taken the same amount of units in CC and UCSD, then your overall combined GPA will be around 3.4. if you have more CC units then it'll be slightly higher and vice versa.

the AADSAS website has GPA answers in their FAQs section of the portal:

http://www.adea.org/dental_educatio...lication/Pages/GradePointAverages(GPA's).aspx

and then here is a breakdown of how they calculate the GPAs

http://www.adea.org/dental_educatio...tructions/Documents/2011 GPA Calculations.pdf

you will have to add up your course hours/quality points to get an accurate estimate of what your GPA would be because it depends on what grade in what class and everything like that. AADSAS doesn't just average your overall GPAs.

Thank you guys!! so, I should be expecting around a 3.3ish 3.4??
