How does aadsas calculate non college level classes that don't provide letter grades?

Sorry if its a stupid question.. I'm just wondering because my first year in college I was placed in a low English class and due to totaling my car and being hospitalized I didn't pass the class... It doesn't say fail it just says no credit or something like that I don't really remember

I found that it says "p" on your transcript which indicates you passed the course they don't include that in calculating your gpa, so I'm assuming the same thing applies to a "np" which indicates not passing? Correct me if I'm wrong or if I missed something in that link. Very helpful though thank you.
