Quick question. What to put after your name if you are BCed

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Technically according to my board certification letter from the ABPN it would be "a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., a member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialities." Pretty unwieldy I think.

Not sure if getting trolled on this... but I will bite...

Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology = DABPN

While I assumed it was related to us based on context, I’ve never investigated it.

When medical professionals of any type start adding multiple designations after their name, I become less impressed.

I’ve seen John Doe, psychiatrist, MD, CBSM, DABPN, FAPA. I can’t say that I didn’t judge this person instantly. By the time I could decipher FAPA, I forgot whether this person was a NP, PA, LPC, LCSW, or MD/DO.
