So I am filling out GWU secondary and under the pre-requisites they have 6 credit hours required for Bio/Physics etc etc. and 2 hrs lab for each

but if lab+lectures are combined, I don't have to fill out the lab part.

I did my undergrad in Canada and here we go by credits in terms of 0.5 or 1 for half/full year course respectively.

I took two biology courses, for example, each with 0.5 credit and lecture+ lab combined.

So do I just put 3 credit hours? Or should I add the credit hour for lab and put like 4?

OK your post was kind of confusing but I'll take a shot. I would say don't add the credit hour for lab since as you said you don't have to fill out the lab part if they are combined. Just add up the credits for your biology courses and put that.

Sorry for the confusion but I ended up doing as you suggested. I was just contemplating between putting 3 hours (direct conversion from 0.5 to credit hours) or 4 hours (add the lab component since it is not added separately here).

But I picked 3 hrs.

Thanks.

I applied to GWU and am from Canada also. It might be easier if you jsut call them and ask how they would prefer you convert it. You've got nothing to lose

I did and it seemed like the lady's tone was something along the lines of ...meh...put whatever...we are gonna compare to AMCAS anyways...

so I didn't care much....
