Hello,
What is the format for the dental school application in terms of EC's. I know medical college they allow 15 slots to fill up, is it the same for dental school? Also what EC's do some of you have?
I read somewhere you can list 5 professional experiences, are these considered EC's. I am confused haha.

Awesome, that is a lot of slots. Its about 35 slots total if you take into account all of them. Thats crazy I can probably put maybe 1-2 for a few of them. I have been volunteering at one place for a long time, so wouldnt it look bad if I did 1 place out of 10 lol. Man this is bad.

Plus 10 spots for dental experience, man I only shadowed 1 dentist for 100 hours, thats 1 out of 10 again. DAMN

Only three slots that you select for each category will show up on the application's cover sheet that the schools receive. The rest show up in the body of the app. So it's fine to have only a couple in each category. Also schools will likely value quality over quantity. 🙂

You dont have to fill all of those spots.

Thanks, this is a relief, what is a good amount of volunteering hours to have. Also can I put in casual sports I play on the weekends as an EC.

100+ volunteer hours is good.
Only include the sports thing if it's an organized sport where you had some kind of leadership role or you gave back to the community in some way.

Yup. If it's dental related hospital volunteering I'd put it under "Dentistry Experience". If it's any other kind of medicine, it'd go under "EC/Volunteer/Community Service"
