Can you be a pharmacists intern if you are not in pharmacy school yet? I am still a undergrad and i was wondering if I could be a intern or what else could i do to get experience/find out if this is really want i want to do?

It really depends on the state too. Some states require professional training as a pharmacy technician, including passing the CPhT exam before you can become a technician.

Some states make you complete a year of pharmacy school before you can be an intern, some allow you to be licensed once you are accepted, and others once you actually start.

If all you want to do is see if it fits you, just offer free labor as a pharmacy volunteer!

If you want to get PAID to see if it fits you, you have to know your stuff and take an exam to become a pharmacy technician.

it depends on the state as to how much you have to do to be a tech but the fact remains that while not enrolled in pharm school you cannot be an intern

Well, in some states you can become an intern with an acceptance letters. In one state that I know of, Ohio, you can become an intern if you intend on going to pharmacy school.

In South Carolina, you can begin your internship 3 months prior to your first day of class in pharmacy school so long as you apply for your intern license (which requires that you send your acceptance letter).
