Hey all, I am not all that new to this forum, I just don't post very often. I hope everyone is hearing good news, and wish you all the best in this stressful process!

Just a quick question: for reasons of not really knowing much about osteopathy (I currently do research with a phenominal osteopathic physician so I have learned a lot about it), waiting for the august MCAT/transcripts to be sent, it took a lil while for my apps to even get in to the schools (like october/november). I know it is late in the cycle, but I recently found that one of my lors (and probably one of my best) has not yet been received by UNECOM thus making my app still incomplete!!! My question is (as the more I have heard/read/seen of UNE, it has become my top choice) should I write a letter of intent/apology for having such a late complete time, since I don't want them to think they are just an after thought? Thanks for any input, and good luck!

I would give Lisa Lane a call and just say that you had asked your letter writer many times to send in the LoR. That you appologize for its tardyness and that you hope that it will not negatively affect the rest of your application. Lisa is an awesome woman and James Gaffney is just as awesome and helpful as well. So it wouldnt hurt to call them. I actually had sent in my Technical Standards form in August, but they lost it. So I sent it in in November and within 2 weeks I was asked to interview. So its deffinitely worth checking into. Also, I dont know if you have applied to other schools, but if you have and they received the letter from that writer, then you might just want to alert UNE to the situation. They receive thousands of letter of rec so it might have been misplaced or misfiled. Also, it might just have disappeared, but if your letter writer did write the response, its very simple for him/her to print up another quick copy and send it off right away. UNECOM is also my top choice and I have an interview there Tuesday, nervous much? Anything I might be able to do, just let me know. Take care and good luck.

Thanks for the advice! They are definetly extremely friendly and helpful there, which is one of the many reasons that school is so appealing. I spoke to my LOR writer, he apologized and said, for some reason or other, he missed that school when sending the letters out. Guess I shoulda been more on top of it, I just felt sorta bad hounding him all the time (you know after having him write/send like 15+ letters), though he is a pretty good friend of mine (besides being my prof/thesis advisor) so he prolly wouldn't have been too phased. Oh well, what is done, is done, I just have to hope for the best.
Good Luck tomorrow! I am sure you'll do great, just be yourself, and have fun! Thanks again 🙂

Thanks again Redwing, I just got an invite for Feb 16th today!!! That is a pretty nice turn around, so the must have just been waiting for that last letter 🙂 Good Luck, again!

Soccer16,
Awesome buddy. UNE is a great school. Dont stress out too much about the interview as the interviewers are awesome and so is the rest of the student body. If there is anything I can help with, let me know. Hopefully I will be getting my acceptance letter sometime soon. Take care.
