I posted this in the osteopathic forum by mistake and i probably wont get a response for quite a while, so i'll post it here too...

I was wondering if it is possible for a D.O. to get into an ACGME accredited program? I am very interested in going into ophthalmology when everything is said and done (regardless if I go the MD or DO route) and the residency program i would eventually like to be in says that an applicant to their program must have done a PGY-1 (IM) at an ACGME accredited program...are DOs eligible for these program?
