Hi, recently i recieved a D ( 4 hour course) in microbiology and at my University a D will not give me credit toward my degree......regardless i am retaking the course this summer and the grade will be replaced.

I was wondering if the 4 hours from the first time i took mirco will count in my total number of hours taken at the University.

For example, will it go on the transcript as 8 total hours, 4 for the orignial and 4 for the retake? Or will the hours also ger replaced making it only a total of 4 hours added to my transcript, i was asking because this makes a big difference in gpa. Thank You.

Assuming you do better this time around, AACOMAS will only count in the better grade. Unfortunately, if you do as poor or worse, the 2nd grade will be counted regardless. As far as your transcript goes, it depends on your institution's grade replacement policy.

right, i understand that i grade gets replaced, i was wondering if the hours get added on from the first time i took the course or do the hours as well get replaced?

I believe that the hours are not replaced and that the hours from the retake are added to to your total number of hours.

can anyone confirm this? thank you
