Is it hard to get accepted at LECOM post bacc?
What gpa/mcat scores are required ?.. I was searching myself and there were so many 2.9 to 3.4 ...
How many credits do you have to take each semester? Since the program it's short only 1 year ..

LECOM"S post bacc is "mini medical school" You don't take certain credits. It's first year medical school watered down, the same material by the same professors. If you do well, it's pretty much guaranteed they will take you the next year. I happened to be placed into the post-bacc program for one semester because I was struggling and the school didn't want me to fail out. I would say out of 100 students, all but 3 or 4 continue through the medical program.

I don't know the answers to the first two questions, sorry.

That actually sounds like something good to get into even if you aren't doing badly.

I would think this would be a NO. LECOM's post bacc is NOT a replacement for undergrad. It's for someone who has their pre-req's completed but maybe have been out of school for a few years and need a brush up on the material before diving into medical school. It's is the same curriculum as the medical students take, given by the same professors only watered down. It's not meant for MCAT review either. It's not designed that way.

NO, Yes.

You can't think of it as taking classes in undergrad. It's not like that. There are no "credits" its not mcat review. It's a prep class for medical school so you don't fail with the fast pace. It's meant for those who have the grades to get into but need a "school" refresher to get back into the swing of things. You don't pick the courses, you just attend.

No, and this is why I feel that SMP's and "Official Post-bacc's" are the right choice for very, very few (read:none) pre-DO students. They're risky. They're expensive. It's basically do-or-die, and if you're looking to gain DO acceptance, it is totally unnecessary.

If such a program exists, please point me in their direction.
