Like I mentioned before, I retook about 5-7 classes and received an "A" in all of them. The only class I have not attempted to retake is a Cell Biology course I took a few years ago. Even with an "F" in that course, I still have a 3.6 sciGPA. The problem is I have little to no time to retake it. Considering my sciGPA is not bad, should I forgo retaking it, focus on my MCAT, and explain it to ADCOMS when it comes time?

Retake. You don't want any F on your record that hasn't been cleaned up.

The 3.6 sGPA is solid. Have you calculated what your sGPA would be with the cell bio retake? If it's only a marginal improvement (like 3.6-3.65 or 3.7) I don't think that would make much of a difference.

Unless you're applying DO where the retake would have a more pronounced effect on your sGPA, I wouldn't bother with it, just explain why you got the F whenever it comes up. I'm assuming it probably will.

I think the deal with retakes usually is it's assumed if you're retaking a course, you should be getting an A. So what happens if you retake it and get a B-? That will raise questions about your judgment and commitment to succeeding academically.

If I do not retake the class, my sciGPA is 3.56
If I do retake and get an A, my sciGPA goes to 3.79

I know it is definitely a better sciGPA and can help my cGPA. But I really don't know if I can find the time to fit it in. May just forgo retaking, explain myself, and kill the MCAT.

That's a big jump. Is your time really that unfungible?

Simple answer is yes. I think it is a big jump too. 3.6 compared to 3.8. is a huge move. I also realize that I have that GPA thanks to DO school and retakes. Regardless, that is my sciGPA and it's a big factor in admission.
