Being Hispanic, URM, first gen, you got pretty great odds at getting into one of those according to this chart, 60-70% or higher?

We do have pretty much the same school list haha, I think we have a good shot at landing some interviews. Might help if you list other ECs you are involved in? 3 publications is awesome though

Basically, being fluent in Spanish is a valuable boost to your app (especially for people who are applying Hispanic URM), but be prepared to speak a little at the interview. The overwhelming majority of Spanish speakers will have American accents.

What kind of hispanic? What hispanic community do you represent? Not all hispanics are considered URMs for medical school admission. Even if you aren't a URM you can still be competitive but those reaches in that case would have to go and you would have to re work some of your list.

Volunteering experience is essential btw, not having it has been lethal to many applicants even with top stats in the past.

Acing all of your classes. Every little bit of GPA you can get will raise your chance of acceptance that much more. If you already have 3 pubs, more research won't help unless you're going MD Ph.D.

The best advice for what you should do the year you apply EC wise is to keep doing EC's in a way that you would be doing them if you were applying next cycle. Ie if by chance you have to be a re-applicant next year you will want a better application than the one you have now. So acing senior year and beefing up the clinical exposure and volunteering are your top priorities. More research means jack-squat at this point for you; do it simply if you want to or it interests you not because you think it'll further help your app.
