If I apply for SMPs in 2010 and, and everything goes ideally, will I be entering medical in 2011? In other words, do would I enter medical school the same year I end SMP?
Sure, if you apply and get in that year. If you're trying to resuscitate a sub 3.0, adcoms may want to see more than a semester's worth of good grades.

It depends on how strong your undergrad GPA and MCATs are. If they are borderline decent (GPA 3.3+ and MCAT 30+), then doing an SMP and applying at the same time would help especially if you can update the schools that you are applying to. If your GPA is hovering around 3.0, then I suggest you take some time out and apply for 2012.
