I am retaking the Gen Chem I class that I got a C- in the first time, now I am not too sure if I will do better this time around. My other science courses are going excellent, but this one still keeps on giving me problems.

What if I don't do well this time around, but ace Gen Chem II and the Orgo classes?

I am just really worried about this because there is nothing else I want more, I admit I slacked around my first year, but now its getting really serious, and I REALLY WANT THIS!!

I got into a pod school, and had like 4 invites for interviews. I too didn't do well my 1st year at college for certain reasons. They look over that stuff, so I wouldnt worry. Just do well in the other classes and they'll see that. good luck!

Don't be so negative about the class! The same thing happened to me,actually almost the exact same thing. I got a C- in Chem1 ( I got B's in the rest of my chem classes) then decided to retake it 3 years later. I have alllways been so bad at chem, but studying for the MCAT actually helped me to really learn the basics of chem and I ended up getting an A. I would say get a study guide book of some kind, I used a kaplan book, but also a schaums college chem book and it helped a lot. It really helps to do better b/c it brought up my science gpa by A LOT.
Study, think positive, and you'll do much better!😀

Usually the 1st semester of chemistry is a lot easier than the second semester. I found the same to be true of organic. Just don't allow yourself anything other than an A. make that your goal and do what it takes to achieve it. However, if you do poorly in Chem I you probably won't ace the chem II. Keep going, work hard and do your best. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I think it depends on the school. My chem II was MUCH easier than chem I, and orgo II i heard is much easier than the orgo I here. It all depends.

Was it easier or did you understand the concepts and where able to apply them in the second semster???

I'd say a little of applying and understanding it a little more. But talking with other people at my college, its a little easier for everyone in general (except physics II was harder than I here).
