I just started radiology residency July 1st. I feel more overwhelmed and stressed out than I ever have in my life. I can't even imagine adding more responsibility the farther along I get. I feel as though I am doing everything poorly...missing findings, screwing up procedures, etc. Are these normal thoughts for this stage? Does it get better? Any advice? Thanks!

Do you remember how you felt as at the beginning of M1? Did you think you could possible make it through medical school?

Wellb its the same for radiology residency. Surely you are not the first resident to feel that way and there will be generations of R1s after you that will feel that way. Rads is competitive these days, so you must be reasonably intelligent to have matched into rads. You'll do fine.

One bite at a time!

Try your best to read a little everyday. It'll come to you eventually.
Good luck :luck:

Esfh,
I feel the same way. I think it's really easy to get overwhelmed. I'm a month in and just started a new block today like most people. I feel like I'll never be able to learn it all. It's very scary to see 2nd and third year residents zip through studies while I'm trying to figure out what I'm actually looking at. I guess we just have to take it one step at a time. Just remember that your not alone buddy.
