Rad Onc Meetings

Would someone be willing to give me the rundown on the various meetings radiation oncologists attend? I know of ASTRO, Radium, and ASCO. Some of my questions include: Which one is considered the 'biggest?' Which one is best to attend as a resident? Which is more prestigious? Which one(s) do residents typically attend? Thanks

I agree that ASTRO is more like a trade convention & "class reunion" type atmosphere. Real science discussed at ASCO first, including groundbreaking radiation data.

In my experience, the best meeting to attend as a resident was dependent mainly on location, which of my friends were going, and whether or not my program would pay for me to attend.
Was never a huge fan of astro (i realize this puts me in the minority). Went only once in residency and have not returned since. Years ago someone on here had a funny post making the analogy about how ASTRO meeting was like an old girlfriend. Was pretty funny.

Agreed. I prefer ars and acro for more chill atmosphere and better locations for doing stuff outside of the meeting
