So, I didn't to go to any conferences and blow my CME so I'm buying a bunch of books... Got this "Radiation Oncology Management Decisions" book by Chao, et. al. Not very good. Just went through rectal chapter, still talks about bony landmarks/2D planning (vaginal tampon soaked with contrast?!? Seriously?) and no mention of GTV, CTV, PTV concepts of what to treat, etc. I don't know. Seems like a great handbook for 1992. Will check out a few more chapters, but if any one who is thinking of it should probably stick with Hanson/Roach or the Purple book.

I'm totally done with print. At conferences, the book publisher's booths are kind of fun to browse through but I wouldn't pay a penny for any texts.

I've started purchasing Virtual Meetings and find them to be quite good and they are about the same cost as a large textbook. The presentations are usually given by academic specialists who are on the bleeding edge. They also give good data on upcoming clinical trials which may be of special interest.
