Dear Doctors
I want to tell you a true story....
I was in love to Radiology from fifth year in medical school when we went to radiology rotation in one of hospitals in my country.'
I finished medical school 2 years ago ,a great hope to come to USA for Radiology.
Visa problem and hard to get in radiology in USA,I went to UK and South Africa .
Now I am Registrar(resident) in South Africa In one of the best third universities there,
Many countries including UK and Canada accepts south African degrees and it was very hard in the begining for me to get admission there...

Still my dream:moving to USA and doing Radiology there.
any advise?
many friend of mine tell me I should finish in South Africa, maybe better chance to move for fellowship or...in future......

many thanks for your suggestions

Unfortunately the most American Medical Specialty boards US rarely recognizes foreign training. If you want to be a radiologist in this country, you will most likely have do a 5 year ACGME accredited radiology residency.

In the past, there were rumors of the ABR allowing foreign trained radiologists to sit for the boards (after a lot of paper work and a lot of petitioning by influencial radiologists on the applicants behalf) after 3 years of some form of accredited US radiology training. IE from fellowships, or a program willing to take your for ONLY 3 years of residency. But all of the originally foreign-trained radiologists I know have done 5 year radiology residency in this country.
