Do Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine get into Radiology, or Oncology residencies? I am interested in becoming one of the two and really don't give a rip what initials go after my name, I just want to be either a radiologist or oncologist.

They do. It may only be one, bot there is definitely a medical oncologist D.O. at the dana-Faber Cancer Institute in Boston

Yes they can along with every other residency

I know a senior radiation oncologist who has been a friend for most of my life... he treated my mother. Anyway, he advised me to become DO and recommended PCOM since my stats aren't the best. He didnt appear to have any DO bias...

Best of luck!

Dr. Berlin, DO. I've talked to her before.

They have to do residency in internal medicine or pediatrics to go onto Oncology (Hem/Onc for peds) fellowship.

My dad's a radiologist. He's been inundating me with names and telephone numbers of radiology DO's. (Think he wants me to follow in his footsteps? Yee gads!) There are MANY of them.

There are over a dozen diagnostic radiology residencies just for DOs. If they don't suit your tastes you can try applying to allopathic ones.

For Radiation-Oncology (which is a very competitive field right now), look up Paul Wallner, DO, a PCOM grad.

He is a 2004 ASTRO Gold Medal winner, a fellow of ASTRO (FASTRO), and held numerous academic appointments at various medical schools (including being the former vice-chairman of radiation-oncology at the university of pennsylvania school of medicine)
