PA has tons of programs, is there anywhere specifically in the state or any program in particular that you're interested in? Do you want academic, community, DO friendly, etc?

HUP (Penn) is an academic powerhouse, but Jefferson and UPMC are well regarded and have great training as well. I didn't interview anywhere else in PA, but have heard good things about PA Hospital.

Hey Aurum,
Thanks for your comment. I'm looking primarily at DO friendly academic programs. How would you compare UPMC, Penn State, Pennsy, Jefferson, AE? Thanks!

Jefferson was not DO friendly. UPMC is suprisingly DO friendly; the chair is a DO. Don't know about the others. In terms of academic prestige, I'd say Jeff=UPMC>Pennsy>Penn State=Einstein

Geisinger is a good community program and is very DO friendly. Location makes it less competitive (Danville is in middle of nowhere).

UPMC is the best of your options. I wouldn’t go to a community program if it’s an option.

I’m guessing that OP is MS3 so no guarantees at all that he gets an UPMC invite. This year, seems like most DOs matched good community programs or lower tier academic programs.
