I was wondering what most exams are like at dental schools besides multiple choice and whatnot. Do they truly test the exam material? I just finished a physiology test over 5.5 chapters and it was a bunch of nit picky details throughout the text. So, in dental school are more examinations based of off power points rather than required reading from texts?

👍

Your exams will likely be varied in format. Most of our basic science classes are multiple choice (with the exception of anatomy which had a combo of MC/blanks/matching/short answer), some dental courses multiple choice with fill in the blank quizzes. Upperclassmen talk about essay questions. Either way, you have to actually try to learn the material and soak up as much detail as possible. On that note, our professors generally don't test us on stuff that they haven't talked about in class even though it may be hanging out in the textbook.
