Random multiple choice guessing

Okay, had a conversation with a former student today, and we were discussing the merits of each answer choice...

So when you come across a question on a multiple choice exam, and there are 5 answer choices, ABCDE, and it stumps you to a point where you could not even make an educated guess.. which answer choice do you pick?

Mine would be B. Been doing it all my life.

Tuff to choose.. With 5 answer choices it's hard to stay with one answer.. I like to go random... Dunno if it really helps or not??????

i think the idea is..if you dont know a few questions, statistically you are supposed to chose the same answer choice for all of them.
