i ll admit it is very upsetting knowing that you,ve spent entire days and nights awake ...preparing for these exams and to end up with C's its so fustrating i wouldnt mind a C in cs cause ironically an A in that doesnt have much of an impact on anything once we've passed that class its sufficient so technically one of my a's isnt that important.....thus making this even more fustrating

What determines ABCDEF? Is it percent right? Curved?

Tell them where they can shove their "other career"

It pisses me off so much to hear people crap on other people's dreams. It's all about drive and determination. You're smart enough to get there; don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Couldn't have put it better myself. You seem pretty bright and driven nova; I have full faith you'll end up a surgeon.

i have spoken to a friend of mine who is currently an intern and was told not to beat myself up too much because i would get A's next yr when i apply but still its depressing...i still have insomnia but its being put to good use. organic chem

anastasis yes these were year one of my A levels , i still have to take yr 2 , which starts in sept. but i have the option of taking my yr 1 chem and phys together with my final yr 2 exams in may , which i will do for obvious reasons.so all is not lost yet ......hopefully

i am currently taking CAPE ( caribbean advanced proficiency examinations) which spans a two year period, i have completed year one and am about to start year2. When we have completed yr 2 we start university. in my case i would be applying to the faculty of medicine to do my MBBS however we apply in jan so i would have to indicate that i am re taking two of my yr 1 exams..........to be granted entry into the school of medicine we must have 15 pts , each grade A gives us five points, therefore i must have all grade A's in both yr 1 and yr 2 , since they take the avg of both grades ( yr 1 and yr 2). cs we must have at least a C however we must have a grade A in all other subjects.

what country are you in supernova? just curious.

Well, we now have a new kitty named Nibbles. She's 8 weeks old. She's really cute, too.

Our other cat, Pete, took to her pretty well. He just seems confused and keeps following her around. And she's trying to ignore her since she's the size of his head. Literally (he's a huge cat).

I'm going to try to get a good pic of the two of them to put on my blog.

so this year wil not be easy and will undoubtedly be full of sleep deprivation but i'm used to it so here my question whats better than coffee to combat fatigue?

let me find the link, its another youtube link. dude, now that i dont have cable youtube is like my tv. how sad is that? 😱

i've heard of vivarin made by gsk.Has anyone tried that? And whats the best way to go about studying chem, esp organic and spec

Thanks for answering my question supernova - I knew it was different but didn't know what the process was exactly. So most people start medical school around 19 or 20 years old there? Is that how it works? How long does the medical school education take?

I was wondering, though - if by chance you can't get all A's in the required classes after retaking (though I hope you do!!!), would you be able to apply to universities in the United States for example, and then the medical schools in the US? I'm just wondering if that would be an option rather than finding a different career if it doesn't work where you are?

Caffeine is the best thing I have found. Also short naps (about half an hour) can be refreshing.

actually the exams that i am taking arent recognised in the Us i'll have to take all the pre reqs and then the MCAT despite having done 2 yrs of advanced phys, chem, bio and math. Actually I'll be 18 when I start ( assuming i get in). The other options are taking Nat. sci for a yr and transfering into med , but we must have all A's for that semester, or you could apply to SGU

That's just a caffeine pill. 200 mg I think. I take them sometimes, they're fine if you don't have time for a pop.

so you may not har from me for long periods of time but i'll try to come on whenever an opportunity presents itself

Hey Williams, I am not feeling well and didn't make it to the race. 🙁

I am watching it on TV though. Go Carl. I am very amused by what happened yesterday between him and Junior.
