Yep, I've seen someone win both showcases a couple times by getting REAL close (but just under) the actual amount. Too bad they have to pay income tax on their winnings! HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

My dear departed grandparents loved that show. My grandmother watched for the game aspects. My grandfather watched to see the women's boobs bounce as they ran down.

I actually like the Ford Fusion (the one they gave away in that clip, although that color was nasty)

The Fusion at least looks like it could hold it's value :laugh:

Yea it really is weird with some of the older generation poker players. One of my professors tells a story about a time he check raised someone when he was in college (some old guy at a downtown poker club) and got punched in the face. :laugh:

from what I remember, after you get through verbal it's all downhill. WS is pretty much a break, and by the time you get to BS you realize it's the last section. Getting through Verbal is the key imo

Yes. Definitely the key for me.
PS will be good, verbal 😕, WS (did a practice yesterday and did fine), then BS is dependant on the content.

"calcitonin reduces bone resorption"

what does this mean???? i'm getting so confused. Calcitonin puts calcium into bone (ie. it builds bone)....so aren't you like....increasing the absorption of bone??

Bone resorption is the breaking down of bone (into calcium). So by reducing bone resorption, you are "toning down" free calcium.....that's what Calcitonin does (that's the mnemonic i remembered it by)

ah thanks

i think its the word resorption that throws me off. because I understand that calcitonin reduces blood calcium by putting it into bone, but if I think of the statement "reducing bone resorption" as reducing the reaborption of bone into the blood...am I thinking of this statement correctly?

as long as you don't write dependant on your WS, you should be ok. 😉

Oh and to anyone taking the MCAT, raise your hand if you are done with your studying and at this point just ready to get this stuff over with.


I think I've personally reviewed each practice test 3 times now and in the case of some of the aamc tests at least 4 times and I'm just ready to get this stuff done with.

Hi VD! I miss ya! I miss everyone on here...well, except the anterior cervix. 😍 beary 😍 I got my official acceptance to the formal post-bacc cert prog last night. So, now I have to change all my classes. Oh well...this is a good thing. When's your next interview? I haven't been keeping up too well on MySpace.

I got one the 1st at Vandy 😀 And I have my Kaplan job interview at 4 pm. (my spiel is going to be about irish politics :laugh: )

I need to update my myspace interview list because I get some angry messages from my friends demanding to be kept in the loop. 😀
