can you play with headsets or something that lets you talk to the other players and work in teams? you know what i'm talking about, like the leroy jenkins clip.

thanks Beary, i'm definitely looking into it. I saw these pre-paid game cards at Best Buy also, do those save you money?

I don't like it though for some reason. I prefer to type in RPGs.

nice VD, i was gonna work for kaplan but i got hired right when i was in the middle of first year and it was just too much to balance. congrats on the job though!

I don't believe they save you any money (but am not 100% sure about this).

I play on Battlenet but it's not a true MMO - you load into seperate games and there's only a set number of quests you can do before you need to start repeating stuff. Not a ton of room for creativity with characters either. I tried odd char builds (had a ranger paladin, weather girl sorc) but they tended to get their butt kicked because there was no way to build them up properly 🙁

WTF??!!!!! I tutored M1s when I was in med school and only made $12/hr. Nice job.

Edit: I just realized that I am so old that there must have been significant inflation since I was in grad school. :laugh:

so i just realized that this med school i'm going to doesn't have a separate biochem course--they put it in with the molecular and cell bio course i'm taking now--and they throw in a bunch of histo--weeeee

I tried Battlenet too but wasn't a fan.

I'm hoping to keep it in med school but if I end up in Houston I think the competition for jobs will be pretty fierce.

There are tons of jerk, 10 year old boys, 40 year old perverts and 40 year old perverts who pretend to be 10 year old boys on bnet. However, as soon as they found out I was a girl I got 1 of 2 reactions:

yeah, that EXACT combination at my school is what the first years start off with. the only difference being that we also have intro to embryology lumped in with that. we call that module "molecular basis of life". sucks! blah, but you wont have to take it again if you get accepted there, just remember that! 😎 and even if you do decide to go to another school, you're gonna have seen all this crap before so you'll be ahead of the curve dr.nichole.

OK give me advice folks. I love my folks dearly, but am busy, tired, and am going to see them the weekend after next for a week when I go to Cincy specifically to visit them. Therefore, I am not super excited about them coming this weekend. Is there any polite way for me to say this?

Tell them there is a level 3 pneumovirus threatening LA and this federal agent Jack Bauer says your pathology skills are the only thing that could save this country. So you have to fly out to LA for the weekend.

sounds like something my parents would attempt to do. Parents can be very controlling sometimes because they dont' know how to let go and let their children live their OWN life.

Tell them that you're around people all the time at work and you just need some alone time to recharge your batteries. 🙂

🙂 My mom and I have worked on this. I actually have told her this exact thing. Unfortunately, she interprets this as 5-10 min/day.
