Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

And thank you to the ever generous, intelligent, lovely, and kind Nichole, who let me start the thread even though she won the last one. 🙂

I have just surpassed the pre-allo random thread in post counts. I have more replies in this thread than the ENTIRE thread over there. It's been 4 days and 2 hours I've been in this thread. They've had a month. We won here folks. 🙂 I'd like to thank my agent and publicist. jlw and Durden, respectively. 😀

After hearing about some of her past patients, I'd try to avoid busting out femi-Nazi. Not that this pro-breast augmenter has the moral high ground by any means.

I just read about how you were more into clinical stuff, but UChicago is more research oriented. How did you work through that for secondaries/interview/etc if you don't mind saying? 🙂 You're giving me second thoughts on this place! 🙂
Well, one of my major passions is medical ethics (my exchange earlier with jlw notwithstanding 😉), and they are very big on that at Pritzker, so I think that was a big factor in them liking me and vice versa. My experience allowed me to discuss why I think ethics is so very clinically applicable and why I was interested in attending a school that cared enough about the subject to give their students a firm grounding in the field.

Another thing that they are very interested in is producing leaders in medicine, although what they think of as leaders is perhaps different that what most people would consider leaders to be. I talked about wanting to be active in whatever community I wind up in... forming/leading ethics committees, educating other practitioners about issues, and really bringing the products of academia to the front lines.

Honestly, of all the schools I interviewed with, Pritzker gave me the best impression that they were really interested in me, the individual perspective that I could bring to their program, and the goals I had in mind for my future practice. I know this probably sounds like so much BS and who knows if it will prove to be true, but I have very high hopes based on the other students I've spoken with.

we do what we can 😉

so far from it, trust me 🙄

jlw is the local "wish people could be happy being themselves, rather than having to try to buy happiness, which never actually works" person on the board.

i think breast augmentation buys happiness for others more than yourself

4K posts in 4 days? I think it's safe for our team to declare victory.

Well said. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. Who knows, maybe I'll apply to both. I don't know any SDNer who has gotten into both; maybe I'll just let them decide for me.
 True. I don't know anyone who got into both, either.

I do envy the north side location a bit. It seems silly that I'm going to be living in the same city as most of my relatives and I'm still going to be just about as far away from them as I am right now.

They are rather fond of talking about their Lake Michigan skyscraper in promotional materials.

Thank you for that perspective! I will look more into their program to see if it would make a good fit. I'm glad to see that others who are also into the clinical aspect will seem fit there fine. Thanks for the heads up. 🙂

and there's a completely different argument there which I shall not engage in, lest I be called militant again.

(seriously- I giggled when I read the femi-nazi comment. If you only knew)
 Too bad you weren't here for the chubby controversy. 🙂

Oh boy...I'm hoping jlw doesn't go digging through the old pages

(ducks for cover)
I will not go digging, scouts honor.

And for the record, I'm coming from an entirely different perspective on this than you guys, somewhat as a female, but mostly b/c of my job(s). So we'll just agree to have different opinions, and on to the next topic, K? 🙂

Nice! I think you can play blackjack at pokerroom.

Sweet... just what I need, a new vice. 😳

I cannot tell you the number of hours I have spent practicing my blackjack (the card counting). I think I have really lost that skill now. Before I went out to Vegas you would have thought I was studying for boards or something I was so serious about it.

 I worked on it for quite a while before I went on my cruise... it did pay off, so I don't feel too bad. 🙂 But, yeah, I've lost it all, I'm sure.

What, I'm supposed to hit on 11?

hello everyone...i see this is like an antena thread few years ago:laugh: . Anyways i thought i's join.
so now is the time to say good night

I can't believe I just read through pages and pages of this thread 🙄
