Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

And thank you to the ever generous, intelligent, lovely, and kind Nichole, who let me start the thread even though she won the last one. 🙂

For the ones I'm looking at that will give me the light of day for an interview it's the case. 🙁

One of them I had an interview for had 80%+ plus traveling for auditing their labor unions. I was expected to drive my personal car all over the place, and they'd just reimburse me for fuel and some depreciation, haha!

Can your Career Services at school hook you up with some leads?

Yea, there's a job fair in Sept back at UF. Open to current and alums. Not sure if they hire, but plan to start in Jan.

UF is in Gainsville isn't it? My step bro graduated from there with Comp Sci major.

how come? sounds like an interesting major....better than bio, which is pretty useless except for pre-med

I don't think UF has that major. We don't really even have a Bio major (only in Liberal Arts College...). I think BioEng would be most useful for getting into a PhD program or MD/PhD stuff. Almost EXACTLY the same for econ.

I realized that its 90% engineering and 10% bio. The bio was the only part I liked

But on the good side, it led me to pursue medicine (when we started to learn about clinical correlations) so I guess it was a good choice 😀

I would imagine bioengineers can make loads of $$$

A polygamist leader fugative was just arrested. Underage marriages and such. Was in an Escalade with $54k in cash, $10k in gift cars, 15 cell phones, wow.

That was my first choice of major but I knew better and switched to physics.

It's a horrible choice for going into industry, unless you have a PhD, because it's so hard to meet specific demands of employers. You come out of college a mutt, no specific engineering discipline. People ask you, sooo what does a bioengineer do? Soooo, can you do things that a mech engineer can do? what about electrical engineer? What exactly is it that you can do?

The problem is, I usually say.......I don't really know, to be honest. I guess a little of everything ??

and and most jobs for bioengineer say "PhD Required" or "min of 5 years experience required" Hence me being unemployed

I know someone who's a chem engineer (phd) and just decided to pursue medicine.

You can get job no problem and make plenty of money being and EE. It's actually a pretty good choice. One problem....... IT SUCKS AND ITS BORING!!!!!!

The money is good, but it levels off no mater how many years you have at that point, which isn't that much different than beginning. It starts fairly high, though.

Both of my parents told me not to go to it because it's boring, lol! My mom is thinking about changing jobs to a different field.

What exactly is electrical engineering?

Well, my dad designs stuff like hardware and software for anything specific he wants. Most of the hardware is made by having a specialty place make the boards, but he assembles some of the parts. He also bids on gov't and private projects and designs whatever they want to their specifications. All electronic stuff...

Duh I've always thought they design/manage electrical stuff during early stages of erecting a building.

I grew to hate EE senior year. We had to design and build a pulse oximeter that could pick of S02 levels in a mouse. With my wonderful bioe degree, I had only 2 EE courses to work with. It was just a wonderful experience to add on top of taking the mcat, let me tell you+pissed+

you must have rocked PS and BS then with that degree.
