Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

clearly she's not an aspiring post-***** like us.

there may still be time to train her.

that's her first post, too....

i was looking through my post history and noticed I have posted nothing of substance as far back as I can check

Beary......what's the average hours for path residency?

Highly variable. That's true for all residencies I guess, but even more for path. We have to keep track of our hours for the 80 hour rule. We have gotten in trouble for violating this in the past and they made some changes to some of the rotations to keep people below 80.

Anyway, this past month I have been doing basically 80 exactly. (It's 80 averaged over four weeks, my first weeks I was 90, last have been closer to 70). Next month will be 40, 50 at the absolute most including evening conferences and stuff.

So out of a four year residency, probably a year is 80 hrs/week. A little less than a year is 40/week. The rest are in the middle. 🙂 Our days can be very long. The big thing we don't have though that a lot of the clinical specialties have is all that in-house night call. So I get to come home to my bed every single night, which makes a huge difference to me in terms of quality of life. Something I didn't really anticipate when I started residency was how much I was going to have to study. I just see stuff all the time real quickly and I have to read about it for it to stick at all.

Damn people you guys are like machines......I'm tired😴 😴 . I think I'm calling it a night (or day).

that's what I'm talking about.

are you verified yet? baby steps, you know.

No, about a week and a half to go. Just when I thought I was turning the tide with the secondary essays, Duke had to release their beast. But that doesn't matter because WUSTL has no essays and is ready to be submitted the instant I'm verified. 🙂

Are you considering Hopkins?

👍

OK, but no scheduling around 12/10-ish, b/c I have cumulative finals on the same day and my culinary skills will be rendered temporarily unavailable.

ok, god she talks alot:

1)girl from honduras. Grew up in poverty. mother illegaly immigrated and sent money home to support the family. she had to drop out of skool. she also illegaly immigrated later. note: the tried the legal route many times. no luck
2)worked her ass off to learn english and make up for lost school time. improved over high school. in college now
3) some angry hondurian bitch got mad at her for not likeing her bf. called the cops and accused her of assulting her with a hammer. she spent 2 weeks in jail. couldnt afford a good lawyer. plead to a lesser charge (a few misdemeanors)
4)some flowery stuff about how shes volunteering here and there. saving the world. ummm husband is in 4th year med. doesnt know if having a criminal record (the misdemeanors) will affect med skool admissions. It will be 4yrs b4 the charges are expunged
