Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

How are ya?

We were in the attic (it's finished out and houses hubby's office and his "media room" which is getting more awesome by the second) and it was blowing so hard that I looked at him and asked "Um, should we be up here?" Thankfully,we still have power...which is more than I can say for many, many others. We don't have street lights right now, so that makes it super dark, but TypeA likes to use porch lights that are so bright that street lights aren't necessary. Really, who would want to break into a house that gives off as much light as the sun?

My mom is the one that can get on my nerves. My dad only annoys my brother, but that's because he lost his scholarship. 😱

Grad school for my master's degree...graduate in the spring. I'll likely do a PhD next.

My parents mean well, but I get nagged on the most about school stuff (i.e. you should *really* apply to med school). Bah!!

she goes off on a tangent about everything and i just sit there and stare at her... shes never encouraging she s the kind that would break your spirit in an attempt to prove her point and she claims shes always right

Sadly, I have taken the MCAT 3x. Got a 25, 30 and then 34. So, I finally got a respectable score, and then I'm like...meh, maybe med school isn't for me. I wouldn't do an MD/PhD I don't think. I like to focus on one thing at a time. And there's always the danger that I might get interested in something else in med school and then want to apply for that. I'm going to discuss potential PhD programs/topics with my supervisor soon, so that should clear things up a bit. He seems to think I'm PhD worthy :clap:

Nice job! What do you mean "one thing at a time?" My cousin is doing MD/PhD at UT-Houston. The first 2 years he was there was regular MD school book work. Next 4 years was PhD work and he did his dissertation. Now he's taking a year off then back to regular med school (rotations for 2 years).

Maybe U of Texas at Houston is what you want? I remember you said you like Texas.

LOL. Only if money were no object. Domestic tuition fees are bad enough, let alone international.

I think the arrangements are the same for the MD/PhDs here. I don't really like the idea of jumping into rotations after four years for PhD work. If I wanted to get both degrees, I'd do MD first, then PhD...work it into a specialty perhaps

:laugh: I hear ya on the "light" issue. I wanted lots of light but its hard to rewire your own house ... *sigh*
