Random Stuffs

I'm thinking about looking at a kitten this weekend. One of the girls I worked with at the wildlife clinic has a foster that needs a home. I feel so so sad without my kitten and just want something to cuddle and sleep with at night. Big kitty is not cutting it. She's still a giant witch and just bites me when I'm sad. At the same time though I feel really guilty because it hasn't been long at all since I put her down and big kitty is going to throw a fit about it. This one is a boy though, does anyone find that makes a difference if they are different sexes as far as getting along goes? Or is that just wishful thinking?
But look at all of his extra toes. Someone tell me I'm not a bad person.

Big kitties adjust to kittens far faster than they would adult cats. I say go for it.

The wattle things are called appendices colli in the goat- assume its the same in the pigs. Don't ask me why that makes the (very short list) of things I remember from anatomy last year  The stuff your brain chooses to remember...

Wasn't until I watched it the second time that I realized her dress was made out of biohazard bags.

Whatever school this is, I totally want to go there. Except for the bad project part, of course.

bahaha this is so funny. We have some of those projects around here.... I sometimes offer up thanks that I didn't choose another lab I was considering with a "bad project"

Hey Ilovezeefishies. Nice name. Every time I see it, I think of our Dr. Sunyer at Penn who is the fish researcher. He teaches a few lectures in a number of classes (immunology, microbiology, couple others I can't remember), all on fish. You would probably love him.

Hi StartingoverVet, I have seen your name around this forum quite a bit! As for Sunyer, he does some pretty cool research in his lab. My advisor told me to study up on my immunology because it was lacking, and I ran into some papers by Sunyer or one of his grad students. I would have loved loved loved to apply to Penn, but I was too afraid of the additional loans compared to my IS or WSU who claims they let you get IS ( which may or may not be true).

I have been trying to visit Philly while out on the East Coast, but I still haven't made it out there. All I know that if I don't get in this year, Penn will definitely be on my list next year!

I think this qualifies as random ...

My dog is in a class that's preparing him for his Canine Good Citizen certification exam. He's a little neurotic so we've got a lot of work to do but he's totally capable of it and he's made so much progress! I love his trainer but she's very blunt and she kind of called me out on being slightly Type A personality and hence, being a bit tense. (I acknowledge this ) Anyway, she thinks my dog and I kind of feed off of each other and she wants me to do yoga, tai chi, or meditate with him a couple days/week. It'll definitely benefit me and hopefully him too, that's the goal.

So yesterday evening I attempted yoga with him following a 45 minute walk and training session (I got a yoga video for home use!). He laid next to me and chewed on his toy for a bit, great right? Then he got up to get some water then returned to drip it all over my face then proceeded to lick me to death. Oy vey ... I'm really making an effort to include some relaxation in my life and I'm hoping he'll get with the program 🙄

Today I saw someone texting on one phone and talking on another while driving through a parking lot. *shudder*

lucky! I have two more finals on friday. 🙁
no finals tomorrow or thursday though. I hate the gap!

Talk about gaps... I have one final Thursday and one Friday this week, then one Wed and one Thursday next week.

Yeah we had one today and then one next Wednesday :uhno:

Hm, sounds like an interesting finals schedule. Except for one hour classes and maybe a couple exceptions, all final exams at my university started on last Friday and end this Wednesday (probably different for vet students though). Less study time I suppose, but nice to get them over with in a timely manner. And classes finished Tuesday of last week to allow some dead days for studying (though I ended up having the whole week off to sleep and study, heh heh).

Just a few more days, you all can do it! :luck::xf:

one year of undergrad, we had classes end on Thursday or something like that, and finals started on Monday. my only final was Friday morning... (aka I rode lots of ponies all week.)

Tomorrow's my last day of classes, and my one final (Physics :d) is next Thursday. I have a lab report due Friday and 3 take-home exams in the meantime, though.

I sent in my final paper for my Professional Writing, Speaking, and Presentation class an hour ago.

Trying to tell a friend on the phone that my mind is no longer functional:

"My Brian is frayed."

:smack:

It's raining! Like literally pouring today!! :biglove:

I love the rain too! I have a skylight in my bathroom and my house is pretty tiny so I can hear it coming down when I'm out here on the computer or in bed. So cozy🙂

Now that the temperatures have finally dropped here though, I do not want any precipitation.

1 of my kitties is really friendly and always wants pets, but she's not a lap kinda kitty.

She just jumped on my lap and curled up in a ball and is purring/napping! 😍😍

I can't decide! Maybe I can get my mom to let me have both.

calicos and torties have a reputation of being hellions. And it is true for my Artemis.

 My Kaylee definitely was! She knew she wasn't allowed on the bookshelves. She would meow at me, jump up on the bookshelf, make sure I was looking at her and then knock books off one at a time.

But she was also my sweetest cat.

we are packing to move. my cat was chewing tape off the boxes. I told her no and she stopped, waited until I turned around and started tearing tape again. This process continued a few times until I separated her from the box. Then she promptly ran to her dish and waited. She wanted dinner early.

👍 it's a reputation because it's based on truth. have had a large handful turn on me completely during exams. then again, i basically don't trust any cats i don't know very far when at work.

I really want them both. They were put together when they were about 3 months and have been together since then. I'd rather not separate them.

I am in favor of adopting them both just because kittens are hellions when they don't have another to play with! I volunteer with a cat rescue and we actually don't adopt out kittens under 6 months old if there's not another cat (kitten or adult) in the household 🙂

And I agree with the torti thing ... they're nutso! My MIL has 2 and they are queen B's! 😛

Mom is thinking about both.. A little more time and I might get her there... 😉
