Random Stuffs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's 'raining' golf ball sized clumps of snow. 😱 I've never seen this before in MN! It was downpoaring icy rain/sleet since last night.

All of my goat friends keep on putting cute pictures of kids on Facebook, and its making me miss my goats and the kids they would be having now if I still had them. I love goats😍

Wasted a bunch of time changing the colors of my profile. 🙄 Procrastination knows no bounds....

But if you're bored, it's fun! 😀

Huge congrats to Mitch Seavey, Aily Zirkle and Jeff King for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Iditarod this year!!!:claps:

the son of a client today recited pi to 150+ decimal places for us in the room!

hey all!

I have a question but I'm not sure where to post it, so I figured a "random" thread might be ok. If the question seems better suited to another thread I'd appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction!
It might be a hard question to answer but: i am hoping to apply to veterinary school in the near future and one of Guelph's required courses is a statistics course with a calculus pre-requisite. My school offers a bunch of stats courses but sadly none of them actually require a calculus pre-req, I have taken calculus before though. I am about to send my Pre-Requisite Course Proposal to Guelph but I wasn't sure how they would react to my stats course not requiring a calc pre-req, and since they take ~8 weeks to reply to your proposal, I don't have too much time to waste.
Anyways, I was just wondering about that, should I email them and just ask? I dunno.

Thanks guys!
All the best.

I would, yes. That's what I did with MN and the fact the only Microbiology course I could find with a Chemistry pre-requisite was JC level. 👍

Ah i see what you mean. Okay great, thanks for the reply!

I was watching a Dunkin' Donuts ad and thought everyone was saying, "I'm drinking bacon" and got kind of excited to be able to try bacon-flavored coffee, but they were just saying, "I'm drinking Dunkin'." Not the same. 🙁

The bad: The backlash to the Steubenville case, not limited to CNN's shocking report of it, is painful, horrifying and quite frankly, infuriating to read. And I know I only feel such a sharp mix of emotions because I feel powerless against rape culture.

The good: I'm trying to figure out how to go about it, but I would love to organize a day camp type thing for x-amount of time teaching 6th-8th graders about cats and environmental enrichment, along with proper handling techniques, reading body language, etc. Not sure how I would go about organizing that, but I might see if it's something I could do in partnership with the county animal shelter. 😛

Parrsquini Life Cycles

This is a blog by a 4th year vet student here. She draws parasitic life cycles and posts them on there. One has been featured in the Vet Gazette before and another one is becoming more and more popular. She now put her name on it to not lose credit for it. haha

I met a guy at a party on Saturday and while that night didn't exactly go as planned and we both got way too drunk, he's turning out to be pretty nice. I really wanna hang out with him again but I can't tell what he is thinking. Sadly, none of my friends is really friends with him and he lives an hour away, so I won't randomly see him around either..

I still get giddy though whenever my phone whistles with an incoming text.. hehe

This video brightened up my gloomy day!

Definitely worth watching! I laughed so hard

Edit: Just realized someone posted it on the SDN facebook grp as well. I swear I didn't steal it from there! lol. Worth reposting here for everyone else though 🙂

OMG, this was so funny I literally was lol and my dogs were looking at me like I was crazy!
Thanks!

Totally random ... the vet I work with most graduated summa cum laude from vet school ... how is that even possible??!! :uhno:

Is that a 4.0? If so, we have several in my class with 4.0s. Our class is kinda an anomaly, though.

Summa is 4.0 and Magna is 3.8-3.9

What blows my mind the most is how amazing she is. She did an internship at one of the top specialty hospitals in our area, was named intern of the year, has a great personality and awesome bedside manner. I knew she was smart when I first started working with her but I had no idea she was THAT smart!

Buncha mutants or something. Making us look even worse by comparison. :d

I am not one of them lol. Nowhere near it. I mean, my GPA is decent but I'm not one of the super smarty pants.

My class rank would be pretty decent in any class except mine. Stupid smart people screw up everything lol

👍

I need severe restraint to not go buy all the half-off Easter candy...
