Mega random question.
How do you change the line in your profile that says "Member" to something else?
I bet it's right in front of my face and I don't even realize it.![]()
I had a client the other day that wouldn't even put the dog down on the scale to get a weight. She got on holding the dog then handed it over to her husband while she weighed just herself. It was only there to get yearly vaccines 😱

If anyone can appreciate this, it's you guys!

A recent graduate c/o 2012 tufts told me today that the secret to getting into any vet school is to lie and say you want to work with chickens. Chickens in a laboratory, specifically.
Then 2 months into your 1st year have an epiphany and realize that you hate chickens again.
How does everyone feel about that? It sort of made me laugh. I don't hate chickens, but I dont like them either.
I would say they aren't going to buy it unless you have some real chicken experience. Regardless, not something I would really consider doing.

HAHA! I do actually like chickens and have taken quite a few classes involving poultry. But I didn't mention it in my PS because I want a rural mixed practice. Maybe it'll still help looking at my transcripts![]()
I wish SDN smilies were available for facebook.
Random question I was wondering if anyone knows the answer too. I am preparing a presentation on EEE. Some sources call it encephalomyelitis, some encephalitis. I know the difference in the terms themselves, just wondering why they are used interchangably? most of the "encephalitis" sources are human- CDC, NEJM, PloS, etc. Most of the "encephalomyelitis" sources are veterinary- AAEP, Merck, USDA, etc. I can't seem to google an answer for my exact question, so I was wondering if anyone could answer it... Is it encephalitis in humans and encephalomyelitis in everthing else?
ETA: Do people actually say "Triple E" when they talk about it? That's what some articles have said... I don't live in an area where its a concern, so when we talk about it its only for vaccination purposes and just say "this does eastern, western, west nile" or something to that effect. I would love to not have to say "eastern equine encephalomyelitis" a hundred times in my 45 min presentation, but also don't want to sound like a dork if no one actually says "triple E" other than mainstream newspapers 🙂
i should be hungover and i'm not.
I've always called it triple E, but I've never been involved with an equine vet and they'd be the ones to know what to call it. I wouldn't think there's anything wrong with saying triple E.
This cracked me up:
