This is why I won't ever live in places without legit winters. I'm so afraid of spiders and cockroaches and most all other bugs. I need the snow, ice and cold to keep them small enough to allow for easy vacuuming.

The crickets that crawl all over in the summer are still gross. 😛 Glad I went to northern MN for undergrad though as opposed to somewhere further south.

I just found out that a clinician and rehabber from Oklahoma State CVM are going to be on Good Morning America tomorrow morning talking about the dangers of pet obesity and the fat camp program at Oklahoma State. I have my DVR set to record it and it should be an interesting segment.

I lived in AZ growing up and rarely saw cockroaches, we got occasional crickets/grasshoppers but nothing horrible, and some spiders... the worst are the ants... they just don't stop coming, but we haven't been getting them anywhere near as often either. We also get the occasional scorpion but they aren't too hard to get rid of. I think the geckos and lizards that live around the area keep all of the creepy crawlies away... 🙂

Didn't see many roaches where I lived... definitely depends on location... where I worked got way more than where I lived but only saw maybe two or three in my house growing up.

The ants were awful at our house... I can remember one Easter as a kid standing in the living room and somehow they were coming up into the house through the carpeting... I didn't see them so I was literally covered in ants... I had so many ant bites on my feet... it was horrid... I despise ants, they are the worst and they can sneak in just about anywhere.

gotta say though that it concerns me that it appears the adult has been tied to the tread mill. if he slips or gets tripped by the little one, he's gonna find himself being hung by his collar and is likely going to panic. i can just imagine all of the horrible things now that could land him at an ER hospital 🙁

i think its a really cool idea - just the other day i was wondering if i could treadmill train my dog so that we could run together at our apt gym i think it would be okay as long as the tether allowed the animal to escape or not be hung should it slip 🙂 also, dog fighting is bad 😉

I do underwater treadmill stuff with one of my dogs because she has a partially torn CCL and we are trying to avoid surgery. After 20 minutes in that thing, she is worn out and sleeps the rest of the day. She is a very high energy dog.

I've had both and would like neither. My husband and dogs weren't allergic, but I had about 30 one inch welts all over my body. It got to the point where now if I get a bug bite I'm afraid that we're ingested again. Never buying stuffed furniture off of craigslist again. Cost over $300 when it was all cleaned up. Could have bought a new couch for that. A small one but still new.

I think I was about six when that happened to me. Apparently there was a crack in the foundation of our rental house. That's when I learned bastard was a ''bad'' word.

You could attach the emergency stop clip to the collar. Tie the leash to the side handles far enough up that it can't touch the moving parts, but low enough that the dog can get off of the treadmill if needed.

I would have totally accumulated more cats prior to this exam I'm about to take. Right now I sit at a growth rate of 2 cats.

I know my opinion doesn't mean jack diddly, but I think that's a really really smart decision. Especially bc 100K turns into a LOT more after 10 years of interest
Again, coming from someone who disliked the University of Florida more than any school in the country lol, I'm glad I made this decision financially. It gets even scarier when you receive your tuition bill 😱
Time will fly and you'll be out of here before you know it. Congrats on making a decision 😀
