Now I want Panda Express for lunch/dinner.

(As sad as it sounds, I'm happy that my new place is fast food adjacent. I was really excited back in June when I saw the wealth of tasty food offerings in the area. Panda Express and Fazoli's five minutes away helped to seal the deal.)

Went to my aunt and uncle's friend's place for dinner last night. He's a pretty big and burly dude. There was a monstrous set of stairs going up to his apartment, so instead of transferring up each one on my butt I just piggy-backed on his back. As we started up the stairs I thought of Game of Thrones and asked him if he watches it. He said yes, so I asked him if this reminded him of anything. He just started saying "HODOR," and did the same thing coming down later.
 
I told my parents I really did not want anything for Christmas. That vet school interviews would be more than enough. My parents are bad listeners. Anyways, I'm now the owner of an Apple Watch. Is anyone familiar with how to work one of these things?

It just buzzed to notify me you responded to this, I'm so tickled.

I don't think most people who haven't looked into smart watches know many exist outside the apple one... I talked to a med student a couple months ago who raved about his and how much he liked it on clinicals, which is why i asked for a cheapish one for xmas.

Weird, because that's a big part the reason my parents wanted me to have one! Like, mom, I'm not even accepted to a school, why are you like this lol

What does your smartwatch do that's helpful in a vet setting (or personal)? I'm curious because it's one piece of tech that I keep looking at and thinking "I don't see the point to it."‎

I've had it for literally a day and a half now while on vacation (don't know if I made it clear it was an xmas gift), so give me like a month of actually using it in clinics and I'll tell you if I like it. 😉

The med student I talked to really liked the savings on his phone battery life (from not constantly opening it for every notification) and ability to quickly "screen" emails/etc in a mildly more professional way than whipping out his phone. He pretty much lit up like a techie lightbulb when I asked about it - really really liked his - and honestly it's probably his enthusiasm more than what he said that made me interested. An added benefit is that I was already looking for a digital watch that wasn't super manly and hideous, because I cannot TPR with analog watches to save my life. This is still pretty big on my smallish wrists but at least has the excuse of being a smartwatch to blame. 😛 That's probably not a problem for you...

Before his enthusiasm I was in the same camp, where I honestly didn't see the point. I still might be, we'll see. I like it so far.

For TPR purposes, my watch has a stopwatch! It is analog, but there may be a way to change that that I haven't discovered yet.
 
Drove back to my condo on Saturday morning to work an eight hour shift. A little sad that I didn't have time to pack up holiday foodz to take back with me. I suppose that means I can avoid holiday weight gain though. I at least got paid, but since I didn't get off til 7pm I have to wait til Monday to deposit my check and my holiday monies... and pay rent and do other adulting things.

(I love that episode. I am currently rewatching series 2-4 in no particular order because watching Jessica Jones has reignited my obsession with David Tennant.)

haha! That is why I started rewatching them as well. Watched JJ yesterday.
 
Ugh, I wish Doctor Who clicked with me. 🙁 I've tried to watch it a couple times and it just hasn't kept my interest.

Most recently I binged all of the UK Queer as Folk (which has a main character who is a huge fan, and whose producer was responsible for the most recent revival) and tried again, but nopers. Just doesn't do it for me.

I can appreciate a solid David Tennant thread, though...

For me with David Tennant it's less "He's so hot omg" (though I do think he's attractive) and more "I just love everything he is." Which is connected to his portrayal of the Doctor. And his fabulous hair.

Though...Ryan Gosling just is attractive, so idk what's wrong with you there 😛

Not exactly attractive in the classical sense, but he portrays wit and charisma and intensity, which holds attention.

Yes, if I ignore that you don't think Jensen Ackles is attractive :laugh: but we'll say that's an anomaly, and declare you normal, at least in this area 😉
