The best kept secret since Barry Bonds' acromegalic features gave his stupid a$$ away... HOW THE F* ISSSS THE USMLE STEP 2 graded????

Huzzzzzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaa!

Of course--to be serious for a split second--I don't necessarily expect any correct (maybe not even any good?) answers.

But here's the context of my above question/speculation: If you take Step 2CK now, are you graded against a curve that consists of all the current test takers (which would be what? lots of FMGs trying to gear up for September's application drive, and all the slacker MSIVs who are still getting this crap out of the way..??)...

So if you're graded against this group, might your chances of getting a higher score be higher than if you took it say in December, in the heat of the MSIV test-taking season? I have enormous respect for FMGs, mind you. It's just that the averages say that their scores are generally lower than US grads.

OK: speculate like nuts!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys. Girls too.

Why then do we have to wait for 3 - 6 weeks to get our grade?! Why can't the computer just calculate our grade at the end of the testing session like the Kaplan, USMLE world, and NBME sites do?!

And what about the survey at the end of the exam?....Is it REALY "optional"? :scared:

There is somthing funny in the air, or I might just be a paranoid schidzo....

And by the way IS IT "CONSTITUTIONAL"/MORAL to be so secretive about grading? Is it not our "right" to know how exactly the test is graded? I mean, what stops the NBME from falling into the human insticts of bias, prejudice, discrimination........OH WAIT, they are "doctors", they are beyond human..... 🙄
