Well, I just did it, pushed those buttons. Man, this is one stressed out process. I went with my heart on this one like everybody advised be to do, hope I did the right thing. Well we'll all know in 26 days. Wish that was tomorrow. Anybody else out there uptight about this lottery?

I'm right there with ya. I went against all my chairman and program director advised and put the programs I felt most comfortable at the top. Nothing against the big academic institutions or big cities but I found out that the location turned out to be really important to me. I sure hope I don't regret any of my choices. Let the countdown begin and may the match gods take me to where I belong. 🙄

I think there a lot of us who feel the same...considering all the money we've put into the system, it's ridiculous that we have to wait so long, 10-14 days seems a lot more reasonable...the computer processes and rechecks everything multiple times in a matter of a few days...and I don't really care about tradition, there have been lots of changes over the years....traditonally it only cost the stamp on the envelope to apply to a program.

I am still sitting in front of my computer staring at the list with 11 hrs to go. Hiro: you got that right. Just let me say I feel back in control today. I keep telling myself it's done, nothing I can do about it. Know what you mean about dating, how about trying to get on the same page as the date, she still being in her internship and I 'm ahead of her, when can we make the lines met in the center. Oh, well, maybe next year will be better. Being apart is a bummer.

Talk about stress, I've been pondering this decision for the last couple months. I went with my heart just like everyone else...I also had to fight my ego and pick the programs I felt comfortable in instead of just the high power university programs. Either way I hope I did it right because I don't want to regret anything. At least its over now and all I can do is wait. I wish this match was sooner so I could have more time to think about where I'm going to live and what I'm going to do with all of my free time before I start my "real" job.

Yeah, I was kidding. I put mine in a week ago. I went with my heart and ended up ranking some of the academic programs lower than a couple community ones. Good luck to everyone!

I'm only a third year, and have yet to feel the stress.

I've heard from some of the V-A patient population that smoking is good when you're stressed out. Try to smoke for a lifetime and you should do okay.
