7 Case Western/MetroHealth
8 Yale
9 Cornell
10 MGH (C)

It might look odd to some, but this is the result of a fine triangulation of coordinates eminating from my heart, mind, and gonads.

hehe. i said gonads.

1. UVa (C)
2. UNC (C)
3. Scott & White
4. Penn State (C)
5. Vanderbilt (C)
6. Mayo-Rochester (A)
7. Dartmouth (C)
8. UTMB

10. Mayo-Rochester (C)
11. UVa (A)
12. UNC (A)
13. UAB
14. Emory
15. Dartmouth (A)

I'd be happy at any of them. In the end, I just loved Charlottesville and Chapel Hill. First rate towns and excellent programs. Ended up not ranking 4 programs (all in my home state...go figure) 😉

Cornell
MGH
Baylor
UT-Houston
NYU
UTMB
UTSW
Wash U
6 others

I thought it'd be rude to list programs too low on my list though I'd be happy matching even at other number 6.

1. vanderbilt
2. mayo - jax
3. utsw
4. jhu
5. uab
6. uva (cat)
7. wash u (cat)
8. uva (adv)
9. wash u (adv)
10. florida
11. oklahoma

I decided on a #1, for various reasons, and the rest are essentially 1a-1j. Id be happy at all nine.

1. UAB
2. VCU/MCV
3. Utah
4. UTHSCSA
5. Vanderbilt
6. UTSW
7. OU
8. Wash U
9. UVA
+3 Prelims

#1. Penn
#2. Columbia
#3. U Michigan

#4-9 in alphabetical order: Johns Hopkins, Oregon, Stanford, UCSF, U Chicago, Yale

Why alphabetical for 4-9? I'm going into academics and don't want to shoot myself in the foot prematurely. We all know these forums aren't REALLY anonymous.

I also ranked 10 (I have only recently learned how to say "no") prelims in various combinations on my supplemental lists. No prelims on the main list.

Best of luck in the Match!

P.S. I just logged in AGAIN, and I was indeed certified. I hear a lot of anesthesiologists have a touch of OCD; I'm in good company!

1. UMass
2. Medical College of Wisconsin (Adv, Cat)
3. Drexel (Cat, Adv)
4. Tufts
5. New York Medical College - Westchester

+ 4 Prelim Med

Mayo Scottsdale
Texas A&M Scott and White
OHSU
Mayo Jax
Dartmouth
Mayo Rochester
Wake Forest
Vermont
Michigan
Maine

Wish I had picked a more anonymous cover. I am worried my bros in Compton will dis me when they find I ranked other progs above MLK.

I am also going into academics so I am feeling coy about my list.

#1 OHSU
#2-8 alphabetical (Mayo, UI, UNM, UU, UW, UW-Mad, VM)

Ranking all but one prelim prog. Ranking all 4 yr progs higher than advanced (when available) d/t spousal difficulties in relocation.

Ranking all anesthesia progs at which I interviewed.

Good luck all!

i don't see the big deal about going into academics and someone (presumably from an academic institution) seeing that *gasp* you ranked their program lower than expected. unless you are ranking strictly based on prestige, anyone can understand that there are numerous factors that come into play. shed that paranoia and enjoy the present.

posting your top 1-3 is hardly "posting your final ROL".

you tease.

This is under a friend's login but here's my list:
1. UCLA
2. Stanford
3. UCSF
4. UW
5. OHSU
6. VMMC
7. Mayo Rochester
8. USC
9. UCI
10-15. all the rest

Good luck everyone!

I guess I'll post again?

1.Mt. Sinai
2.Columbia
3.Mass Gen
4.Hopkins
5.Penn
6.Stanford
7-9. Who cares

Columbia
CCF
UPenn
UW-Seattle
OHSU
MCW
WashU
Rochester
Harbor-UCLA

didn't rank baylor

1 Scott and White
2 Vanderbilt
3 UT-Houston
4 Oschner
5 Wash U
6 SLU
7 Oklahoma
8 UTMB
9 Baylor

Then some prelims. Placed the categorical first then ranked the advanced spot immediately after.

Good luck to all, hope everyone gets what they want.

1. Univ. of Pittsburgh
2. Johns Hopkins
3. Mayo-Rochester
4. Cleveland Clinic
5. Dartmouth
6. Penn State
7. Case Western
8. Univ. Texas at San Antonio

Prgrams 1-3, ranked categorical before advanced for each program.

Ranked 4 TY, 2 Prelim Med

Good times all, good times. Everyone enjoy the final slide that is fourth year.

1. Mayo – Rochester
2. University of Virginia
3. Oregon Health Sciences University
4. University of Washington – Seattle
5. Johns Hopkins
6. Virginia Mason
7-10. the rest...

Good Luck All!

Here's my list (kinda) 😀

1-3. Columbia, Hopkins, Penn (alphabetically)

4-7. Brigham, Mayo, Pitt, WashU (alphabetically)

1 & 2 were pretty much a coin toss. they were so incredibly similar to me--I was going back and forth to the last minute. Who knows, i could end up at either one (or neither 😱 ). That said, I'd be overjoyed to end up at any of the 7 programs. Ranking em is just nitpicking differences, which was TORTURE.

I guess this is the new 'official ROL 2006' thread 👍

1. Scott & White
2. University of Kentucky
3. UT-Knoxville
4. UTMB-Galveston
5. UTHSC - Houston
6. UTSA
7. Baylor
8. University of Louisville
9. University of NM
10. UTSW

1) CCF
2) NONE

It may sound outrageous, but I would rather scramble if I don't get my top pick. I know you'll think I'm crazy, but a picked up a couple bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label to get me through the next 3 weeks of anxiety filled hell.

Good luck to everyone!

I am committed to New Orleans. It was a hard decision to make, but it is important to stay in a city that you have family in and strong roots.

And Here I thought I could avoid Idiopathic for the next 3-4 years and you go and rank UTSW and Wash U (not once, but twice!) LOL. Best of Luck to you bud! Hopefully we will see each other at Vanderbilt when I start my EM peds fellowship there.

Best Wishes

heehee . . .well. . .being on SDN for a few years has a way of chipping away at anonymity despite one's best efforts.

I should make a new anonymous account. . . :meanie:

In the North Atlantic, when you're 500 miles from land in the dead of winter, you only have two options when your submarine starts flooding:

1) Stop the flooding.
2) Sink.

No one listens to Dead Men's Excuses

Why do you care about anonymity? I mean, if I am willing to post mine, considering the number of people I've pissed off, then anyone should

😉

Awesome! I'll be workin on some JW black... blue's kinda pricey. Anyhow, way to sac up, and go full steam at what you want man... I hope the cards fall in your favor.

1. Brigham and Women's
2. Beth Israel Deaconess
3. Vanderbilt

5. Wake Forest
6. Tufts
7. Columbia
8. Washington U.
9. Emory

11. Scott and White
12. MUSC

I'd be happy at any of those programs.

*** This "alpha" crap is nonsense... Do you think that a program director is ever going to apologize or feel guilty for ranking you low? They will only blow smoke up your skirt and tell you, "We really wanted you!" no matter how far down the list they went... SERIOUSLY!

Be happy and feel like you accomplished something by getting those programs in the first place.

I really only got one bottle and it was the $60 size, not the $200 size. I need to work up to the $200 size when I get a job. We'll have a glass at the MARC or ASA.

Good Luck

No, but if I end up matching at my non #1, I dont want my match to feel like I'm bummed about being there, cause I definitely would NOT be.

(I know too many SDN residents from several of my ranked programs. Or rather. . .too many know my identity. . . 😛 ).

Congrats to us all for surviving up to this point!

I'm in the UK now so with the 5 hour time difference I was getting neurotic with the rank list deadline (although I recerted multiple times). My top 6 rank list alphabetized (who knows if PDs come on here and check - yes I know this is irrational...):
1-6. Columbia, Cornell, Georgetown, NYU, Sinai, Yale

Chicamedica,
I like you "first" post better - The one where you at least ranked what your #1 and #2 programs were. Don't worry, your 'list' is safe with me. 😉

Since my rank list thread obviously wasn't good enough, I guess I'll have to list this again. Maybe someone else can start another final...final rank list thread. 😀

1) Penn State
2) West Penn
3) University of Rochester
4) U Penn

Best of luck & success to you all!

I fondly/not-so-fondly recall the pain of figuring out my ROL after being so burned out from smiling my @$$ off in interviews for several months. Plus, right about this time, my daughter had just been born - so my ROL was not my biggest priority...learning how to be a Dad was! Anyhow, she is now three (and an absolutely fantastic kid!), I am nearing the end of my CA-2/PGY-3 year (really looking forward to the 'new batch' coming in) & life is good.

For all of you, your next year it the internship. Just come to terms with the fact, it is going to SUCK $HIT! If you are fortunate & yours does not - then consider yourself extremely lucky! The intern year represents the $hit-peak of your medical training; however, it is only 1 year & after all that you have endured, you can certainly put up with anything for one year. Best part of it is - IT IS ONLY FOR A DEFINED, FINITE PERIOD OF TIME and you can survive it...maybe ever learn some good stuff.

After the internship, it gets orders of magnitude BETTER!!!

Again, best of luck & success to you all! Will see at least a handful of you come July 2006!

If UTMB moved to Austin we'd find them at the top of many many lists (though maybe not the NY, Mass, Pennsylvania heavy lists above).

Sorry about the non-list chatter.
