I've started practicing PAT (have done some key holes, TFE, angle ranking, and paper folding, but not done cubes and hole punching yet) and was wondering which sections you guys thought were most difficult.

Post your rankings! Thanks.

Easiest to most difficult:
1) Cube counting
2) Hole punching
3) Keyholes
4) TFE
5) Angles
6) Paper folding

As far as difficulty, I think: Cube counting < Hole punching < Angle ranking < TFE < Key holes < Paper folding
Now, when you get to the last four, you'll see some changes varying on who you talk to, but for me the first couple were things that you could get a high score on using very little time, allowing more time for other sections. The angle ranking for me was very much about knee jerk reactions looking at both of them quickly, and just breaking them down to x < y, y < z, therefore:... The TFE just takes practice because it's a whole different way of thinking, but if you get used to it it can be pretty easy. I think that the key holes as well as the paper folding can be the hardest.

Scored 19. Highest out of the 4 CDP tests I've taken (due to mainly rushing through TFE because I don't know how to do it and Angles which I can't distinguish). If I could've gone back in time I probably would've done the first couple without timing so I can get my strategies down.

In terms of difficulty (least to most):

Paper Folding<Cube Counting<Key Holes<Hole Punching<Angles<TFE

TFE is a concept that most don't get...I recommend you look over the Sama/DMD thread. Those two do a great job at explaining a couple of sections, especially problems I missed on CDP.

Paper Folding comes easy for me for some reason...I usually get 13 or 14 on this. Cube Counting is up there....least I got was a 12, but I know if I go slow and double check I should get a perfect. Key Holes I usually get 12 or more. One CDP test I got a 14! Hole Punching is difficult for me...but it's slowly getting there. Angles is difficult for anyone imo....there's a bunch of techniques floating around the boards, so try each one and see which one helps you. I'm still trying to find mine.

Difficulty: Hole punching < Cube counting < TFE < Angle ranking < Paper folding < Key holes

Crack the DAT PAT is the best practice. I averaged 25 in practice and scored a 25 on the real thing (but definitely could've/should've scored higher).

Angles < Cubes < Hole punching < Pattern folding < Keyholes <<<< TFE

TFE is my kryptonite. Every once in awhile I'll have a moment where I can clearly see the 3D structure, and then it's really easy, but most of the time I struggle with that.

I actually like doing angles and was surprised when I started coming here and found people thought they were hard. Just shows how everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. I know there are plenty of people who have an easy time with TFE and probably don't get why people like me can't figure it out.

Most Difficult to Easiest:

1. Paper Folding
2. Hole Punching
3. Key Holes
4. TFE
5. Angles
6. Cube Counting

Most Difficult to Easiest:

1. Pattern Folding
2. Angles
3. TFE
4. Hole Punching
5. Key Holes
6. Cube Counting

Most Difficult to Easiest:

1. Pattern Folding
2. Angels
3. TFE
4. Key Holes
5. Hole Punching
6. Cube Counting

Most difficult to easiest:
1)Pattern Folding
2)Angles
3/4)TFE and Keyholes (these are roughly the same for me)
5)Hole Punching (though, my DAT made this much more difficult. I'm sure all of this just depends on what you happen to get on test day)
6)Cubes

Key holes
TFE
Angle ranking
Hole punching
Cube counting
Paper folding

I have looked at some PAT materials and here is my opinion.

(1 being the easiest. 6 being the hardest)

1 = cube counting
2 = keyhole
3 = hole punching
4 = paper folding
5 = angle ranking
6 = Top front end

1 (easy)-6 (hardest)

1. Cubes
2. Hole punching
3. Angle ranking
4. Key holes
5. Paper folding
6.TFE

For me it goes like this (easiest to most difficult)

Angle ranking < Cube counting < Key hole < Hole punching < Paper folding < TFE

how in the world are most of you saying hole punching is easy. I am getting slaughtered on crack dat pat regardless of the test number. they are inhumane!

if the whole exam was based on hole punching i would be SOOOOOO happy. I love hole punching, HOWEVER the keyoles literally destroy me. I get 12/15 13/15 on most sections and then i get like 4/15 on the keyholes HAHAHAHAHa so disgusting.

easiest to most difficult:
1) cubes 2) keyholes 3) hole punching 4) pattern folding 5) angles 6) TFE

Easiest to Hardest

1) Hole Punching
2) Cube Counting
3) Key Hole
4) TFE
5) Pattern Folding
6) Angle Ranking

Easiest to Hardest:

1. Cube Counting
2 (tie). Hole Punching/Keyhole/Angle Ranking/Paper Folding
6. TFE

The only thing that gives me trouble is TFE. I'm good with the others with Cube Counting being a joke. My plan is to get all my points in the five I can handle. I'm glad there isn't a separate score with each subtopic.

EDIT: If someone can me teach me TFE, then I will teach you one of the others in exchange. Deal? Send me PM.
