"Ranked alternate waitlist"?? at lecom

Hi guys, I interviewed at lecom erie april 17 and today I checked my status and it said "you have been ranked on lecom's alternate list." I thought lecom or most D.O's school do not ranked you on their alternate list? Am I missing something here?

We were told during interview day that the waitlist at LECOM-B was going to be ranked in May.

Touro-NV does rank the people on their wait-list. That way if x amount of people decide not to go the first x people on the list are offered the position & so on until class size is met.
